My name, as the website suggests, is Sean Brooks. I live in Washington, D.C. and work at the Save Darfur Coalition. Having been at the coalition since 2006, I am currently a member of the policy team and lead a number of the coalition’s outreach efforts with international organizations, particularly those in the Arab world and with Sudanese civil society. I graduated in May 2009 from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with a master’s degree in international relations and international economics and a concentration in Middle East studies. Before moving to Washington, I worked in the President’s Office of The American University in Cairo and volunteered at a refugee center teaching English courses for refugees primarily from Sudan and Somalia. Originally from Ocala, Florida, I graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College in 2004.
